What inspired you to become a teacher?
It always excites me to know the value education can have in preparing our future.
What do you enjoy most about working at our school?
Don Buck Primary School has an incredible program that’s inclusive for all learners with the intention of truly preparing our tamariki for the future. We have so many amazing talents and ability in our kura ensuring our learners are prepared to reach their potential.
How do you keep your students engaged and motivated in learning?
I’m big on student led and acknowledging the strengths and talents in my classroom but also having the trust to learn from our tamariki.
How do you incorporate parent and community involvement in your classroom?
Being a culturally responsive teacher means working alongside whanau and bringing a taste of their world in the classroom. This also means learning from my students and families myself.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m also a fitness trainer! In my spare time I love to train and an absolute lover of the outdoors.
